Katja v. Ruville, who grew up in Munich and the Rhineland, studied Art History in Oslo and Communication Design in Mainz. She has been working as a book-designer for German publishers for 20 years. In 2003 she moved to Frankfurt and founded “grassgrün”, her label for unique jewelry using resin and found objects. By then, her first lightobjects emerged, fragile works presented on light-boxes. Since 2011 she has attended Merja Herzog-Hellstén’s sculpture classes at Städelschule Frankfurt Evening School, working with plaster, resin, porcelain and material from nature. Her works are fragile and transluscent. Her studio “grassgrün” is a working-space, showroom and gallery.
